Sam Smith vanta il più alto numero di nomination ai BRIT Awards 2015, il massimo riconoscimento riferito alla musica nel Regno Unito. Altri candidati con citazioni multiple sono George Ezra e Ed Sheeran.

Il 25 febbraio, presso la O2 Arena di Londra, saranno assegnati i BRIT Awards 2015. Conferiti dal 1977 dalla British Phonographic Industry, la cerimonia di quest’anno sarà presentata dal duo di comici Ant & Dec. Allo spettacolo parteciperanno Taylor Swift, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, e Sam Smith.

Nel frattempo, sono state annunicate le nomination. Proprio Sam Smith è l’artista che vanta il più alto numero di candidature, 5. Il suo nome è compreso nelle categorie British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, British Single (per Stay With Me), British Artist Video Of The Yeart (per Stay With Me) e Album Of The Year (per In The Lonely Hour). 4, invece, sono le citazioni che interessano George Ezra e Ed Sheeran.

Durante l’evento, James Bay ritirerà il Critics’ Choice Award 2015, il premio che annualmente identifica le migliori future stelle della musica britannica, assegnato da profondi conoscitori di questo segmento dell’intrattenimento, che l’artista 24enne si è assicurato all’inizio di dicembre. Nelle precedenti 8 occasioni lo hanno ricevuto Adele, Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Emeli Sandé, Tom Odell, e Sam Smith.
