Per la 72.a volta, l’associazione della stampa estera presente a Hollywood ha decretato i vincitori dei Golden Globe Awards. Durante l'edizione del 2015 sono stati premiati i film Boyhood e The Grand Budapest Hotel e le serie The Affair e Transparent. Riconoscimenti hanno riguardato Amy Adams e Michael Keaton.
A conclusione del weekend in cui si sono spenti il regista Francesco Rosi e l’attrice Anita Akberg, a Hollywood - presso il Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills - sono stati consegnati i Golden Globe Awards, il riconoscimento assegnato annualmente sia ai migliori film che ai principali progetti veicolati su altri schermi. Insieme all’Oscar per il cinema e all’Emmy per la televisione, è il maggiore riconoscimento riferito a chi ha originato e/o partecipato ad un’opera destinata al grande e al piccolo schermo.
Durante la cerimonia del 2015 ha trionfato Boyhood, considerato il miglior film drammatico. Richard Linklater, che lo ha diretto, ha ottenuto il Golden Globe come miglior regista. The Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson si è assicurato il premio nella categoria miglior film del genere commedia. In merito alla televisione e al web, migliore serie drammatica è risultata The Affair, mentre Transparent ha trionfato nella categoria riservata alla commedia.
Altri premi hanno interessato Eddie Redmayne, protagonista de La teoria del tutto, e Julianne Moore, interprete di Still Alice. I due sono stati riconosciuti i migliori attori protagonisti - maschile e femminile - di un film drammatico. Per la commedia si sono distinti Michael Keaton e Amy Adams, rispettivamente grazie ai ruoli avuti in Birdman e Big Eyes. Come anticipato lo scorso settembre, George Clooney ha ritirato il Cecil B. DeMille, motivato per il suo eccezionale contributo sia davanti che dietro la macchina da presa.
